Terms of Service
Last updated Oct 8, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and WhatPost (“WhatPost”, “we”, “us”) for using the website at whatpost.io and the WhatPost app (together, “the service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
WhatPost is a research and writing tool for creators: it analyses public short-form videos and helps you write scripts for your own. It produces text, not images, video or audio.
The short version
- You need to be 18 or older.
- A new account starts on the Free plan, a small allowance given once. Paid plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time.
- You can request a refund within 7 days of your first subscription payment. See the Refund Policy.
- What you make with WhatPost is yours. What you bring into it stays private to your account.
- WhatPost reads public videos to help you make your own. Don’t use it to copy someone else’s work, and don’t expect it to guarantee views.
1. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms.
- An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has access.
- You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Give us an email address you can receive mail at. It’s how we reach you about your account and your plan.
2. Plans and billing
- Free plan. Every account starts on the Free plan, with a small allowance that is given once: it doesn’t renew or reset. It’s shown in the app.
- Paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio) are billed monthly or yearly, at the price shown in our pricing when you subscribe. What each plan includes, such as how many videos you can analyse a month, is shown there and in the app. Monthly allowances reset each month and don’t carry over; on a yearly plan the allowance is given month by month.
- Changing plans. Moving to a higher plan applies at once, and you’re charged the difference for the rest of the current period. Moving from monthly to yearly starts your year that day: you pay for the year, and the unused part of your month is refunded. Moving to a lower plan, or from yearly to monthly, applies at the end of the period you’ve paid for; a switch to monthly is made a day or two early, and those days are refunded.
- Renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Who you pay. Payments are handled by Creem, our Merchant of Record: it sells the subscription to you, charges your payment method, collects sales tax or VAT where it applies, and issues invoices and refunds. Its terms for buyers also apply to your purchase.
- Taxes. Where tax applies, it’s added at checkout.
- Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you. The new price starts at your first renewal after that, and you can cancel before then.
3. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel any time, in Settings › Billing in the app or by emailing support@whatpost.io from your account’s address. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. After that your account stays, with your work in it, on the Free plan. Cancelling deletes nothing.
You can request a refund within 7 days of your first subscription payment. Refunds may not be available where substantial usage of paid features or credits has already occurred. After that, payments are non-refundable, with the exceptions the Refund Policy describes. Nothing in these terms limits any refund or withdrawal rights required by applicable law.
4. Using WhatPost fairly
Please don’t:
- break the law, or use WhatPost to harass, deceive or harm anyone;
- re-upload someone else’s content, pass it off as your own, or otherwise infringe anyone’s rights;
- make content that is sexually explicit or suggestive, hateful or violent, or that targets children;
- try to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, get around its limits, or reach other people’s data;
- share or resell access to your account, or scrape or copy the service itself;
- use WhatPost in a way that breaks Instagram’s terms.
The full list is our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. If an account breaks it, we may suspend or close the account. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.
5. Your content
Your content is what you bring into WhatPost (the accounts you track, the files and notes you add, your messages) and what WhatPost makes for you (your Brand files, your scripts, the analysis of your own account).
- It’s yours. We don’t claim ownership of it.
- You allow us to store, process and show it only to run the service for you, which includes sending it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies the law makes us keep and backups that expire on their normal cycle.
- We never use your content to train AI models.
6. Other people’s content
WhatPost reads publicly available videos and profiles so you can learn why they worked. An analysis is not permission to reuse anyone’s video, audio, words or likeness. Make your own work, get permission where you need it, and remember that what you publish is your responsibility.
The analysis of a public video may be stored and reused for other people who analyse the same video. It contains nothing about you. If you’re a creator and want us to stop processing your public content, email support@whatpost.io.
WhatPost is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram or Meta.
7. AI output
WhatPost uses AI models from third-party providers, including Anthropic and Google, through their business services. WhatPost is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Its analyses and drafts can be incomplete or wrong, so read them before you rely on them or publish them. We don’t promise results: not views, followers, reach or sales. What you publish, and how it performs, is up to you and the platforms.
8. The service
We keep improving WhatPost, so features change. If we remove something that is a main part of a plan, we’ll tell you in advance, and you can cancel and get back what you paid for the rest of that period. We work to keep WhatPost available, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted.
9. Ending
You can stop using WhatPost at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@whatpost.io from its address. We delete it within 30 days. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. If we close a paid account for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the period.
10. Liability
We provide WhatPost as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for WhatPost in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100 if you haven’t paid us anything.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or takes away the rights you have as a consumer where you live.
11. If something goes wrong
Tell us first, at support@whatpost.io: what happened, and what you’d like us to do. We’ll work with you to put it right, usually within a few working days and always within 30 days. If you’ve asked for a refund within 7 days of a charge, you’ll get it. We would much rather fix things with you than argue about them.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email you at least 14 days before the change applies, and the date at the top of this page will change. If you keep using WhatPost after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, you can cancel before they take effect.
